Golden Energy and Resources Limited (“GEAR”) is principally engaged in the exploration, mining, processing and marketing of thermal coal sourced from its coal mining concession areas, covering an aggregate of approximately 38,165 hectares in South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and Jambi (a province in Sumatra), Indonesia.
Assets & Locations
GEAR owns three (3) mining concessions, consisting of primarily thermal coal with an average calorific value range of between 3,900 kcal/kg (arb) to 6,600 kcal/kg (arb). Our concessions cover an aggregate of approximately 38,165 hectares in South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and Jambi (a province in Sumatra), Indonesia.
PT Borneo Indobara
BIB has mining concession areas covering approximately 24,100 hectares located in South Kalimantan with a coal resource estimate of 1.8 billion tonnes and a coal reserve of 604.2 million tonnes; BIB produces coal with a calorific value of between 4,000 – 4,300 kcal/kg.
PT Kuansing Inti Makmur
KIM has mining concession areas covering approximately 2,610 hectares located in Jambi (a province in Sumatra) with a coal resource estimate of 260 million tonnes and a coal reserve estimate of 35.6 million tonnes; KIM produces coal with a calorific value of 4,700 kcal/kg.
PT Trisula Kencana Sakti
TKS has mining concession areas covering approximately 9,707 hectares located in North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan with a coal resource estimate of 77 million tonnes. A study estimating the coal reserves was not possible due to various reasons.
Corporate Social Responsibility
The GEAR Group has made substantial efforts to integrate with the local population in the vicinity where its mines are located, as it believes that these efforts are integral to the stability and development of its business.
As part of its community development programme initiative, the GEAR Group engages in activities aimed at fostering community relationship and empowering such communities, such as implementing various programmes to provide economic, technical, social, infrastructure, educational and healthcare assistance to the local communities.
The GEAR Group has provided the local communities with new employment opportunities by recruiting/employing and training local residents to work in fields that demand high skills, such as heavy equipment operators and drivers.
